About Noor Jahan’s Tomb
Empress Noor Jahan, the influential wife of Emperor Jahangir, lies in a tomb she reportedly commissioned herself at Shahdara, close to her husband’s. Though it lost much of its marble over the centuries, restoration has recovered its dignity and delicate inlay.
As one of the few major Mughal monuments dedicated to a woman who wielded real political power, it holds special historical interest.
