Overview

This is the trip that shows Pakistan’s astonishing range: the Mughal splendour of Lahore, then the soaring Karakoram at Hunza, one of the world’s most beautiful mountain valleys, framed by peaks like Rakaposhi and Ladyfinger, with the historic Baltit and Altit Forts, the turquoise Attabad Lake and famously long-lived, hospitable communities.

We start in Lahore, then head north to Hunza (flying to Gilgit or driving the Karakoram Highway from Islamabad, conditions permitting). It’s seasonal, roughly spring to autumn, and priced on request around routing, season and duration.

Itinerary

2. Day 3 · North to Gilgit/HunzaFly to Gilgit (weather permitting) or drive the Karakoram Highway.

4. Day 7 · Upper HunzaOptional Khunjerab Pass toward the China border (season/permit permitting).

• Seasonal: roughly April–October; winters restrict access.
• Mountain flights to Gilgit are weather-dependent, we always plan a road contingency.
• Higher altitude and long mountain drives, a reasonable fitness level helps.

• Comfortable walking shoes for uneven old-city ground
• Sun protection in summer (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) or warm layers in winter
• A refillable water bottle
• Modest clothing for mosques and shrines
• Some cash for snacks, tips and small purchases
• Your camera or phone, and any personal medication
• An overnight bag and your passport/ID for intercity travel

Dress & etiquette

Accessibility
