Overview
Pakistan rewards a longer stay, but if 5 days is what you have, this is the itinerary that gives you the broadest genuine picture of the country in that time: Mughal Lahore, the Gandhara Buddhist ruins of Taxila, Islamabad’s modern calm, and Peshawar’s Grand Trunk Road history right up against the old Khyber frontier. It’s tighter than our Lahore & Islamabad Tour or Lahore & Peshawar Tour individually, but covers more ground than either, built for travelers who want the fullest possible taste of Pakistan on a fixed timeline rather than a single deep-dive pairing.
We arrange every transfer, hotel booking and local guide, so the driving days are efficient rather than exhausting. Priced on request around hotels, group size and whether you fly or drive the Peshawar–Lahore return leg.

Good to know
- This is a fast-paced itinerary by design, if you’d rather slow down, our two-city Lahore & Islamabad or Lahore & Peshawar tours give more time in fewer places.
- Peshawar and the frontier region can carry a different security posture than Lahore or Islamabad; we brief you honestly on current conditions before you travel.
- Best October–March; summer heat is intense across all four cities on this route.
- Flying back from Peshawar to Lahore on the final day is the easiest way to protect your departure flight time, we recommend it unless you’d specifically like to see the Grand Trunk Road again.
Before you go
What to bring
- Comfortable walking shoes for uneven ground
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) or warm layers for cold desert/winter nights
- A refillable water bottle
- Modest clothing for mosques and shrines
- Some cash for snacks, tips and small purchases
- Your camera or phone, and any personal medication
- An overnight bag and your passport/ID for intercity travel
Dress & etiquette
Modest dress (shoulders and knees covered) is best; women need a headscarf inside mosque and gurdwara prayer halls (our guides carry spares) and shoes come off at religious sites. Please ask before photographing people. See what to wear and mosque etiquette.
