5 Days in Pakistan Tour

If you've only got 5 days in Pakistan, this is how we'd spend them: Mughal Lahore, ancient Gandhara at Taxila, the modern capital Islamabad, and the historic Grand Trunk Road city of Peshawar, the country's essentials in one private, well-paced loop.

Overview

Pakistan rewards a longer stay, but if 5 days is what you have, this is the itinerary that gives you the broadest genuine picture of the country in that time: Mughal Lahore, the Gandhara Buddhist ruins of Taxila, Islamabad’s modern calm, and Peshawar’s Grand Trunk Road history right up against the old Khyber frontier. It’s tighter than our Lahore & Islamabad Tour or Lahore & Peshawar Tour individually, but covers more ground than either, built for travelers who want the fullest possible taste of Pakistan on a fixed timeline rather than a single deep-dive pairing.

We arrange every transfer, hotel booking and local guide, so the driving days are efficient rather than exhausting. Priced on request around hotels, group size and whether you fly or drive the Peshawar–Lahore return leg.

Good to know

  • This is a fast-paced itinerary by design, if you’d rather slow down, our two-city Lahore & Islamabad or Lahore & Peshawar tours give more time in fewer places.
  • Peshawar and the frontier region can carry a different security posture than Lahore or Islamabad; we brief you honestly on current conditions before you travel.
  • Best October–March; summer heat is intense across all four cities on this route.
  • Flying back from Peshawar to Lahore on the final day is the easiest way to protect your departure flight time, we recommend it unless you’d specifically like to see the Grand Trunk Road again.

Before you go

What to bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes for uneven ground
  • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) or warm layers for cold desert/winter nights
  • A refillable water bottle
  • Modest clothing for mosques and shrines
  • Some cash for snacks, tips and small purchases
  • Your camera or phone, and any personal medication
  • An overnight bag and your passport/ID for intercity travel

Dress & etiquette

Modest dress (shoulders and knees covered) is best; women need a headscarf inside mosque and gurdwara prayer halls (our guides carry spares) and shoes come off at religious sites. Please ask before photographing people. See what to wear and mosque etiquette.

Accessibility

Parts of this tour involve walking on uneven ground, steps, and in places soft sand, and a few sites have limited step-free access. We can adapt the pace and route for reduced mobility, wheelchairs, families with strollers or older travelers, tell us your needs and see our accessible Lahore tours guide.

FAQs

Is 5 days really enough for Lahore, Taxila, Islamabad and Peshawar?
It’s tight but genuinely workable as a private tour, since we control the pace and cut out the friction of independent travel, you’ll get a real taste of all four rather than a rushed glimpse, though a longer trip always sees more.
How is this different from your Lahore & Islamabad tour?
That tour spends more time in two cities; this one is built specifically for travelers who want breadth across four places within a hard 5-day limit, adding Peshawar to the mix.
Is Peshawar safe to visit?
The city center and main sights are regularly visited by tourists with a local guide; we give you an honest, current briefing on conditions and adjust the itinerary if circumstances warrant it.
Can we extend this if we decide we want more time?
Yes, many guests add days once they’re here. Just let your guide know and we’ll adjust hotels and the remaining schedule.
Is this tour private?
Yes, every tour is fully private: your own party, your own licensed guide and your own air-conditioned vehicle. Nothing is shared with strangers, and the pace flexes around you.
Do you provide hotel or airport pickup?
Yes. We collect you from your Lahore hotel or from Allama Iqbal International Airport at no extra cost within the city, and drop you back afterwards. We track your flight, so delays are no problem.
Can this tour be customized?
Absolutely. Tell us your interests, pace and any must-sees or must-avoids, and we tailor the trip around you.
What languages do your guides speak?
English-speaking licensed guides are our standard. Italian, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and Arabic-speaking guides can be arranged on request, subject to availability.
How and when do I pay?
No payment is taken online. We confirm availability and a firm total price first; a deposit secures your dates, with the balance due before or at the start of the tour. Bank transfer, Wise, card and PayPal are accepted.
What is your cancellation policy?
Fair and flexible, exact terms are confirmed in writing when you book. See our cancellation & refund policy for details.
Is Pakistan safe for tourists?
The main visitor areas are busy, welcoming and well-policed, and all our tours run with licensed guides and private drivers. See our honest safety overview and check your government’s current advisory.
How do I book?
