Good news for Muslim travellers: essentially all food in Lahore is halal. Here’s the context.
Halal by default
Pakistan is a Muslim-majority country and meat is halal throughout โ from street stalls to five-star hotels. You can eat freely without seeking out special certification; it’s simply the norm.
No alcohol, no pork
Pork is not served, and alcohol is not sold in ordinary restaurants (its sale is heavily restricted). Dining is naturally in line with halal expectations.
Ramadan
During Ramadan, daytime dining is limited (many eateries open after sunset), but the iftar and post-sunset food scene is spectacular. We plan around it.
Peace of mind
For observant travellers, Lahore is one of the easiest cities anywhere to eat well within halal requirements โ the whole cuisine is built around it.
Any specific dietary needs beyond halal โ allergies, spice, vegetarian โ just tell us and we’ll plan accordingly.
