Changa Manga, southwest of Lahore, is a vast forest famous as one of the largest hand-planted woodlands in the world, established in the 19th century. Today it’s a relaxed recreational escape with a lake for boating, picnic areas, birdlife and a charming narrow-gauge heritage railway that loops through the trees.
It’s a gentle, green day out — especially good for families with children or anyone wanting nature and fresh air rather than another monument.
