Overview
Gurdwara Panja Sahib at Hasan Abdal, near Taxila, is one of the most sacred Sikh sites in Pakistan — revered for the rock said to bear the handprint (panja) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It’s a deeply important pilgrimage stop, especially around Baisakhi.
Honestly, Hasan Abdal is about 340 km from Lahore — roughly 4.5 hours each way — so while a single very long day is possible, we recommend an overnight (often combined with Taxila or Islamabad) for a calmer, more meaningful visit. Priced on request because the format shapes the cost.
Entry requirements differ by nationality and change over time — especially for Indian passport holders and the Kartarpur Corridor’s separate permit system. We check the current rules for your documents before anything is booked.

Before you go
What to bring
- Comfortable walking shoes for uneven old-city ground
- Sun protection in summer (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) or warm layers in winter
- A refillable water bottle
- Modest clothing for mosques and shrines
- Some cash for snacks, tips and small purchases
- Your camera or phone, and any personal medication
- A head covering for gurdwaras (scarves are also provided)
Dress & etiquette
Modest dress (shoulders and knees covered) is best; women need a headscarf inside mosque and gurdwara prayer halls (our guides carry spares) and shoes come off at religious sites. Please ask before photographing people. See what to wear and mosque etiquette.
