Overview
Maharaja Ranjit Singh — the ‘Lion of Punjab’ — forged the Sikh Empire from Lahore in the early 19th century, and his samadhi (memorial) stands in white marble and gilded domes beside Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque. It marks the spot where he was cremated in 1839.
This focused visit, with a Punjabi-speaking guide, tells the story of the Maharaja and his empire, and sits naturally within a fuller Sikh-heritage or Mughal day given its central location.
