Founded in 1865 and housed in a grand colonial building on the Mall, the Lahore Museum is the richest in Pakistan. Its star is the Fasting Buddha of Gandhara — one of the most remarkable Buddhist sculptures anywhere — but the galleries also hold Mughal and Sikh miniatures, coins, arms, textiles, and relics of the independence era.
