About Tomb of Allama Iqbal
The Tomb of Allama Muhammad Iqbal sits in the Hazuri Bagh between Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque. Iqbal — poet, philosopher and the spiritual father of the idea of Pakistan — died in 1938, and his simple but dignified tomb of red sandstone and marble is a place of national reverence.
A guard of honour is maintained here, and for many Pakistanis a visit is deeply meaningful.
