About Tomb of Allama Iqbal
The Tomb of Allama Muhammad Iqbal sits in the Hazuri Bagh between Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque. Iqbal, poet, philosopher and the spiritual father of the idea of Pakistan, died in 1938, and his simple but dignified tomb of red sandstone and marble is a place of national reverence.
A guard of honour is maintained here, and for many Pakistanis a visit is deeply meaningful.
