10-Day Hunza Tour Package from Lahore

Overview

Our standard Hunza trip runs a tight 7–9 days; this 10-day package gives the same astonishing scenery, Rakaposhi and Ladyfinger peak, the Baltit and Altit Forts, turquoise Attabad Lake, more room to breathe. We add the alpine Naltar Valley, a full day around Passu and Gulmit’s glaciers and lakes, and treat the Khunjerab Pass as a confirmed excursion rather than a ‘season and permit permitting’ add-on.

The extra days also give us a buffer against the Karakoram Highway’s occasional landslide closures and Gilgit flight cancellations, so your trip is less likely to be disrupted by the mountains’ unpredictable weather. Priced on request around routing, season and group size.

Itinerary

1. Days 1–2 · LahoreMughal Lahore, the Walled City and Lahore’s food scene.
2. Day 3 · North to GilgitFly to Gilgit (weather permitting) or drive the Karakoram Highway, with a contingency day built in if needed.
3. Day 4 · Naltar ValleyA day trip into the alpine Naltar Valley, pine forests, the Naltar lakes and views of Rakaposhi from a different angle.
4. Day 5 · Gilgit to HunzaOn to Karimabad; afternoon at Baltit Fort and the old town.
5. Day 6 · KarimabadAltit Fort, the Eagle’s Nest sunrise viewpoint, and a walk through Karimabad’s orchards and lanes.
6. Day 7 · Attabad Lake & Upper HunzaAttabad Lake by boat, then on to Gulmit and Passu, with views of the Passu Cones and glacier.
7. Day 8 · Khunjerab PassA full day up to the Khunjerab Pass, the world’s highest paved international border, with wildlife-watching for ibex and (rarely) snow leopard along the way.

• Seasonal: roughly April–October; the Karakoram Highway and Khunjerab Pass close with heavy winter snow.
• The extra days versus our 7–9 day Hunza tour go into Naltar Valley, a fuller look at Passu/Gulmit, and a buffer against delays.
• The Khunjerab Pass sits over 4,700 m, mild altitude effects are possible, though no trekking or exertion is involved.

• Comfortable walking shoes for uneven ground
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) or warm layers for cold desert/winter nights

• Modest clothing for mosques and shrines

• An overnight bag and your passport/ID for intercity travel

Dress & etiquette

Accessibility

Parts of this tour involve walking on uneven ground, steps, and in places soft sand, and a few sites have limited step-free access.
