Lahore is meat-loving, but vegetarians eat very well here with a little know-how. Here’s your guide.
Great vegetarian dishes
Daal (lentils), channay (chickpeas), aloo and sabzi dishes, palak paneer, saag, chana masala, and superb vegetarian breakfast โ halwa puri with channay and aloo. Fresh naan, roti and paratha accompany everything.
Snacks & street food
Much street food is naturally vegetarian: samosas, pakoras, golgappay, chaat, dahi bhalla, plus all the sweets (jalebi, gulab jamun, kulfi) and drinks.
Ordering tips
Say clearly you’re vegetarian (‘sabzi wala’ / no meat); ask whether dishes are cooked in shared pans or with meat stock if you’re strict. Dedicated vegetarian routing on our food tour avoids any doubt.
Vegan notes
Vegan is harder (dairy โ ghee, yogurt, paneer, milk โ is everywhere), but possible with clear communication; many daal and vegetable dishes can be made without dairy on request.
Tell us your requirements and we’ll build a fully vegetarian (or vegan) food experience โ no compromise on flavour.
