Staying connected in Lahore is cheap and easy. Here’s how to get online.
Buying a SIM
The main networks are Jazz, Zong and Telenor. You can buy a tourist SIM at the airport or in the city with your passport; registration is required by law. Data packages are inexpensive and generous.
Coverage & speed
4G coverage across Lahore is good, and reliable for maps, ride-hailing, WhatsApp and browsing. Speeds are solid in the city.
Wi-Fi
Hotels, cafรฉs and many restaurants offer Wi-Fi, though a local SIM is more dependable for getting around and staying in touch on the move.
WhatsApp is the default way Pakistanis (and we) communicate โ calls, messages, everything. Make sure it’s set up; it’s how we’ll stay in touch throughout your trip.
VPNs
Some services can be intermittently restricted; a reputable VPN (installed before arrival) is a useful backup for certain apps.
Get a SIM on arrival and you’ll have maps, translation and a direct line to us in your pocket.
