Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) is a modern, manageable airport about 15 km from central Lahore. Here’s what to expect on arrival and departure.
On arrival
After landing you’ll clear immigration (have your visa/e-visa and address ready), collect baggage, and pass customs. A local SIM can be bought in the arrivals area with your passport. If you’re on our tour, your guide or driver meets you just outside arrivals with a name board.
Getting a SIM & cash
SIM vendors (Jazz, Zong, Telenor) operate at the airport; bring your passport. ATMs and currency exchange are available in the terminal — change a little cash for immediate needs, then use ATMs in the city.
Transport into the city
Ride-hailing (Careem, inDrive, Yango) and taxis operate from the airport; agree fares or use the app. For a seamless arrival, we recommend a pre-booked private transfer — especially after a long flight or a late landing.
Departure tips
Arrive 3 hours before international flights. Security is thorough; there may be multiple checks. There are cafés and duty-free shops airside, though selection is modest compared with major hubs.
