Government College University, founded in 1864, occupies a beautiful Gothic-revival campus crowned by a landmark clock tower (‘the Oval’). Among the most prestigious institutions in the subcontinent, its alumni include Nobel laureate Abdus Salam and poet Allama Iqbal.
