About Delhi Gate
Delhi Gate is one of the surviving historic gates of the Walled City, so named because it faced the road to Delhi. Today it marks the start of the restored Royal Trail (Shahi Guzargah), the processional route that once carried emperors to the Fort.
Passing through it, you step from the modern city into the dense, layered world of old Lahore — bazaars, the Shahi Hammam and Wazir Khan Mosque all lie just beyond.
Highlights
- The gate itself — A restored Mughal-era gateway into the old city.
- Royal Trail start — The beginning of the Shahi Guzargah walking route.
- Bazaar life — Immediately busy with traders, food and craft stalls.
- Conservation — Part of the Walled City’s ongoing restoration.
