SIM Cards in Lahore: A Tourist’s Guide

Tourists can buy a prepaid SIM in Lahore from any major network — Jazz, Zong, Telenor or Ufone — by showing a passport (SIMs are registered to your ID). Prepaid data bundles are cheap, 4G coverage is good across the city, and you can buy at the airport or any franchise shop.

How to buy

Visit an operator franchise or airport counter with your passport. Ask for a tourist/prepaid data package. Jazz and Zong have strong Lahore coverage. Buying at a SIM counter at the airport gets you connected on arrival.

Data & coverage

4G is widely available in the city; speeds are good for maps, WhatsApp and ride-hailing. Bundles are inexpensive — a few dollars for ample data. WhatsApp is the default way locals (and we) communicate.

Prefer wifi?

Hotels, cafes and restaurants offer wifi. See SIM & internet and internet in Lahore.
