About Lahore Railway Station
Lahore Railway Station, completed in 1864, is unlike any ordinary station: designed in the aftermath of the 1857 uprising, it was built like a fortress, with turrets, thick walls and defensible towers so it could be held in an emergency. It remains a busy, atmospheric working station.
A fascinating and slightly unexpected monument of colonial military-civil architecture.
